PROGRAM TITLE: Leadership Begins with You: Bringing Your Best Self to Work
PURPOSE STATEMENT: Following is the Course Information Detail for Leadership Development Training Programs. As a courtesy for EAP customers, this Leadership Development course description is in standard continuing education format.* The Leadership development series is intended to enhance the personnel supervision skills of workplace supervisors and managers.
PROGRAM SUMMARY: The phrase “Bringing Your Best Self” is one that is used in many areas of life and can also relate to being a leader within the workplace. This leadership development program will look at examples on how to apply these principles to the workplace to assist with growth and connection. It will look at strategies to help a leader to feel better equipped and more productive in their leadership role.
In addition, this year’s training will include the state requirements for an hour of drug and alcohol supervisor training for a drug-free workplace.
OBJECTIVES
Participants will:
- Identify what “Bringing Your Best Self to Work” is and how that applies to leadership within the workplace.
- Identify best business practices that enhance skills such as awareness to identify performance issues in employees and ways to combat them.
- Discuss components of resilience and self-reflection to increase growth and connection in the workplace.
- Utilize worksheets and examples to leave with increased knowledge on how to apply these principles.
- Identify work performance problems related to substance misuse and abuse
OUTLINE
Section I:
- Identify what “Bringing Your Best Self to Work” is and how that applies to leadership.
- Identify best business practices to enhance skills such as awareness.
- Discuss components of resilience and self-reflection to increase growth and connection

- Work performance problems related to substance misuse and abuse
